Summary:
To safely, effectively, and efficiently process non-conforming parts back into the production facility after correction.
Requires proficiency and understanding of the essential work instructions and operating and quality control procedures that govern:
-
Set-up and operate trim saw by trimming excessive material from the product prior to machining.
-
Operate the plug press to re-size out of code fittings with the aid of plug ball or R/R dies.
-
General grinding on fittings that are non-conforming using a die grinder, angle grinder or file to smooth the rough edges.
-
Grinding bar plates
-
Operate forklifts.
-
Other duties as assigned.
Work environment:
-
Extensive exposure to all outside weather conditions and inside factory environment such as dirt, smoke, grease, noise, oil, graphite, lubricants, cold and or hot environmental conditions.
-
Continuous exposure to presses, electrically controlled handheld boom, furnaces, forklifts, overhead cranes, grinders, hand tools, inspection equipment, welders, band saws, stamp machines, hot steel, conveyors, hydraulic boom, and tilt table.
Physical demands:
-
Constant lifting to a maximum of 65 lbs., bending, twisting, and stretching.
-
Work requires regular to continuous physical effort; stand on feet entire 10-hour shift, bend in cramped space, extreme heat from forges.

Wear protective equipment required in all production areas including coveralls or long sleeves, gloves, hard hat, hearing protection, metatarsal steel toed boots, and safety glasses with side shields.
Required education and experience:

High School or equivalent

Use of Hand Tools

Knowledge of basic codes and fitting specifications

Set-up of trim saw and specific measuring
