City of Apple Valley is accepting applications for Apple Valley Liquor Store 3 Responsible for providing excellent customer service. Responsible for following all policies, procedures, laws and regulations related to the sale of alcohol and tobacco. Duties include but are not limited to: Operating computerized point-of-sales system, stocking liquor store coolers and shelves; lifting and carrying beer and cases of merchandise; general cleaning of store and interacting in a professional, courteous and helpful manner with customers. This position reports to the Liquor Store Manager and may take day-to-day direction from the on-duty Assistant Store Manager, Liquor Store Supervisor and/or Lead Clerk.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Check identification to determine eligibility to purchase liquor.Waits on customers: finding items on shelves, recommending and selling merchandise, and carrying merchandise to vehicles.Operates Point of Sale (POS) system. Accurately rings up retail sales, receives payment, and gives change.Stocks, arranges, and rotates liquor merchandise on shelves; stocks beer coolers and sets up displays. Stocking shelves involves carrying cases of beer, liquor, and wine and counting inventory.Performs general cleaning and upkeep at the liquor store, including but not limited to: setting up and dismantling displays; dusting shelves, displays, etc.; vacuuming and sweeping floors; removing snow/ice, dirt, and debris from outside walkways; removing trash from store; cleaning store and cooler windows; washing shelves, bottles, and products; and cleaning restrooms.Performs other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position as apparent or assigned by the City.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Reports to: Liquor Store Manager. May take daily work direction from the on-duty Assistant Store Manager, Liquor Store Supervisor, and/or Lead Clerk.Schedule: Part-time, variable hours. Involves shift work, including holidays. (10-27 hours a week). This position work hours will include weekends.Day hours: 9:00 a.m. - 4/5 p.m. (2-3 days per week Monday through Friday)Evening hours: 4/5 p.m. - 10 p.m.Post-Offer Requirements: Offers of employment contingent on successful completion of background investigation.Position Classification: Casual.
