We’re growing and looking for a results-driven Business Development Representative (BDR) who understands the urgency and relationship-driven nature of abatement work and can consistently generate new opportunities.
Position Overview
As a Business Development Representative, you'll be responsible for developing strategic relationships with referral partners, identifying new business opportunities, and growing market share throughout your assigned territory.
Success in this role comes from consistently networking, prospecting, educating referral partners about our asbestos abatement services, and maintaining a strong presence within the construction, environmental, property management, insurance, and commercial industries.

Responsibilities
- Build and maintain relationships with:
- Property managers
- General contractors
- Restoration contractors
- Plumbers
- HVAC contractors
- Roofing contractors
- Insurance agents and adjusters
- Commercial property owners
- Facility managers
- Environmental consultants
- Generate new business through networking, prospecting, cold outreach, and industry involvement.
- Actively manage and grow your territory through in-person visits and relationship building.
- Educate referral partners on asbestos regulations, abatement requirements, and Columbia Environmental's services.
- Utilize company sales processes, training, and CRM to manage opportunities from initial contact through project handoff.
- Track sales activity, referrals, and pipeline performance.
- Partner with leadership and marketing to expand Columbia Environmental's presence throughout the Vancouver, WA market.
- Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless project execution and an outstanding client experience.
- Represent Columbia Environmental at industry associations, networking events, and trade organizations.
- Meet and exceed monthly sales and business development goals.
What We're Looking For
- Experience in asbestos abatement, environmental services, construction, remediation, or related industries.
- Strong understanding of asbestos abatement projects and environmental compliance.
- Proven ability to develop referral relationships and generate new business.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
- Self-motivated, organized, and goal-oriented.
- Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced, field-based sales role.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation.
Highly Preferred
- Estimating experience (Xactimate or similar software).
- Existing relationships within the Vancouver, Southwest Washington, or Portland construction, environmental, property management, insurance, or commercial markets.
- Experience transitioning from field operations into sales.
- Knowledge of Washington and Oregon asbestos regulations.
