Join our dynamic team as an Experienced CDL Pump Truck Driver/Technician, where your expertise will drive impactful waste management solutions and keep communities clean and safe. In this energetic role, you will operate a variety of specialized trucks—including front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, and tractor-trailers—while performing essential maintenance and technical tasks. Your hands-on mechanical skills and commitment to safety will ensure efficient delivery, load & unload operations, and adherence to all transportation regulations. Responsibilities
- Safely operate a range of commercial trucks such as front loader, rear loader, roll-off, dump trucks, flatbeds, and tractor-trailers in compliance with DOT (Department of Transportation) and state transportation regulations.
- Load and unload waste materials efficiently using front-end loaders or other mechanical equipment while adhering to hazardous materials regulations when applicable.
- Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and equipment, including air brake systems and hydraulic components, ensuring optimal performance and safety standards.
- Perform preventive maintenance tasks on trucks and related machinery to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Drive responsibly with defensive driving techniques to ensure safety for yourself, colleagues, and the public during all delivery routes.
- Load, secure, transport, and deliver waste materials or equipment to designated disposal sites or facilities in accordance with municipal waste management protocols.
- Maintain accurate logs of deliveries, pickups, vehicle inspections, and maintenance activities; complete shift reports diligently.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with necessary endorsements for operating heavy-duty trucks such as pump trucks for cleaning septic tanks
- Proven experience in commercial driving within solid waste management or municipal waste sectors; delivery driver experience is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of heavy-duty trucks and hydraulic systems; ability to perform basic repairs or troubleshooting is preferred.
- Knowledge of hazardous materials regulations and proper handling procedures when transporting special waste streams.
- Familiarity with air brake systems, manual transmissions, and safety standards outlined by DOT and state transportation authorities.
- Ability to lift heavy loads safely during loading/unloading processes; physical stamina for long shifts involving heavy lifting.
- Excellent driving record demonstrating defensive driving skills; commitment to safety protocols at all times.
- Experience operating various types of trucks including front-end loaders and rear loaders; familiarity with load & unload procedures across different truck types is a plus.
