The Iowa County Highway Department is seeking applicants for an Auxiliary Maintenance Patrol position. General job duties include plowing/winging of snow; weed and brush control and mowing and flagging traffic. This position will be assigned to our Paint Crew helping with painting roadways. Starting pay is $26.16/hr. and a generous, comprehensive benefit package.
Applicant requirements: minimum 18 years of age, high school diploma/GED, and valid Commercial Driver’s License with classes A,B,C, and D, with no air brake restrictions; preference for candidates with (N) tanker endorsements. Candidates must have recently demonstrated proficiency with a wide variety of equipment and tools and an understanding of the machinery, methods, and operations required for road maintenance and construction activities as well as hands-on experience with the daily care, maintenance, and operation of equipment and trucks, and capability to operate automated brooms, various hand and mechanical tools, mowers, plows, road maintenance and construction equipment.
