Responsibilities
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of lawns, gardens, trees, and hardscape features using hand tools, power tools, and machinery such as excavators.
- Perform lawn care tasks including mowing, edging, trimming trees, and snow plowing during appropriate seasons.
- Support landscape maintenance activities like irrigation system installation and repair, horticulture tasks, and general gardening duties.
- Operate equipment safely and efficiently while adhering to all safety protocols.
- Engage with customers by providing knowledgeable advice on landscaping options, plant care, and maintenance services to generate sales opportunities.
- Prepare work sites by clearing debris, setting up materials, and ensuring all tools and equipment are maintained in excellent condition.
- Collaborate with team members on complex projects such as hardscape construction or tree care to ensure timely completion of jobs.
Qualifications
- Mechanical knowledge and familiarity with landscaping equipment including hand tools, power tools, and excavators.
- Experience in lawn care, landscape maintenance, gardening or horticulture is highly desirable.
- Ability to operate construction machinery safely and effectively.
- Strong knowledge of tree care practices such as trimming and pruning.
- Basic understanding of irrigation systems and snow plowing procedures.
- Excellent communication skills to assist customers confidently and clearly explain services.
- Physical stamina to perform outdoor labor in various weather conditions for extended periods.
- Prior experience with landscaping or hardscape projects is a plus but not required; training will be provided for motivated candidates.
