Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Technician to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various pharmacy settings, including LTC (Long-Term Care) and Community environments. This role is critical in ensuring the safe and effective delivery of medications to patients, providing exceptional patient care, and supporting the overall operations of the pharmacy.
Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in preparing and dispensing medications to patients, ensuring accuracy and adherence to prescriptions.
- Provide patient care by answering questions and addressing concerns regarding medications and health products.
- Maintain accurate records of medication administration and patient intake information.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through effective medication management.
- Demonstrate knowledge of medical terminology to facilitate clear communication within the healthcare team.
- Support critical care initiatives by assisting with medication needs in acute care settings.
- Uphold pharmacy policies and procedures while maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a Pharmacy Technician is preferred, with a strong understanding of pharmacy operations.
- Familiarity with LTC pharmacy practices and experience is highly desirable.
- Strong patient service skills, demonstrating empathy and professionalism in all interactions.
- Ability to comprehend medical terminology related to pharmaceuticals and patient care.
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail to ensure accuracy in medication dispensing.
- Ability to work effectively while managing multiple tasks efficiently.
