We are seeking an experienced Compliance Clinical Specialist (RN) to join our Compliance team. This role serves as a key partner to operational and clinical leaders throughout the organization, helping ensure compliance, quality outcomes, and ethical business practices across our Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNFs), Assisted Living Facilities (ALFs), and Hospice agencies.

About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Compliance Officer, the Compliance Clinical Specialist partners closely with clinical, operational, and executive leaders to support regulatory compliance, quality improvement, and risk mitigation initiatives across the organization.
In this role, you will conduct audits, investigate compliance concerns, provide regulatory guidance, support corrective action planning, and educate teams on best practices. This role requires strong clinical judgment, regulatory expertise, and the ability to build trusted relationships while navigating complex healthcare environments.

What You'll Do
Compliance Audits & Investigations
- Conduct onsite and remote compliance audits related to clinical care, documentation, billing practices, HIPAA, and other regulatory risk areas.
- Utilize analytical review processes, auditing methodologies, data analysis, and statistical sampling techniques to identify potential compliance concerns.
- Investigate compliance issues and support fact-finding activities related to regulatory, clinical, and operational matters.
- Prepare timely, accurate, and actionable audit and investigation reports.
- Monitor corrective action plans and provide follow-up support to ensure sustained compliance and operational improvement.
- Identify patterns, trends, and opportunities to proactively reduce organizational risk.
Regulatory Guidance & Clinical Compliance
- Serve as a subject matter expert on nursing regulations, clinical compliance requirements, and healthcare industry standards.
- Provide guidance and support to facility leaders, clinical teams, and operational partners regarding regulatory expectations and best practices.
- Monitor regulatory developments and communicate changes that may impact operations, clinical practice, or compliance obligations.
- Assist facilities in preparing for surveys, audits, and regulatory reviews.
- Support the organization's commitment to ethical business practices and resident-centered care.
Education & Training
- Develop and deliver compliance education programs for clinical, operational, and leadership teams.
- Present audit findings and compliance recommendations in a practical, collaborative, and solutions-focused manner.
- Promote understanding of compliance requirements, risk mitigation strategies, and regulatory expectations across the organization.
- Support ongoing competency development related to clinical compliance and quality initiatives.
Program Development & Risk Management
- Partner with the Chief Compliance Officer to evaluate and strengthen organizational compliance programs.
- Assist in developing audit tools, monitoring systems, and compliance methodologies.
- Participate in risk assessments and organizational compliance reviews.
- Support compliance due diligence and regulatory integration activities related to acquisitions and organizational growth.
- Help identify opportunities to strengthen policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Partnership & Operational Support
- Build collaborative relationships with facility administrators, Directors of Nursing, regional leaders, and Home Office teams.
- Provide hands-on support to facilities experiencing regulatory, compliance, or quality challenges.
- Collaborate across departments to drive sustainable improvements in compliance and clinical outcomes.
- Serve as a trusted resource and advisor to leaders throughout the organization.
What You Bring
Required Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in Skilled Nursing, Long-Term Care, Post-Acute Care, or a related healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and regulatory requirements impacting skilled nursing and post-acute care providers.
- Ability to interpret regulations and effectively communicate requirements to various levels of leadership.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in compliance, quality improvement, survey readiness, risk management, or clinical consulting.
- Experience supporting multiple facilities or multi-state healthcare operations.
- Familiarity with Medicare Part A and Part B reimbursement requirements.
- Experience conducting audits, investigations, or regulatory reviews.
- Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) or similar certification.
