Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated CNC & Manual Machinists to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up a variety of machining equipment, including CNC lathes, mills, grinders, and manual machines, to produce high-precision metal and plastic components. Your expertise in machining techniques, blueprint interpretation, and measurement will ensure the delivery of quality parts that meet strict specifications. Duties
- Operate CNC machines such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Perform manual machining tasks on lathes, mills, grinders, and other machining tools to achieve required dimensions and finishes.
- Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing), and manufacturing specifications to ensure accurate production.
- Set up machines by installing tooling, calibrating measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines for quality assurance.
- Conduct precision measurements during manufacturing using micrometers, dial indicators, and other measurement tools to verify part accuracy.
- Perform machine maintenance, tool changes, and adjustments to optimize machining processes while adhering to safety standards.
- Inspect finished parts for quality compliance through CNC quality inspection techniques and measurement in accordance with blueprint specifications.
- Support lean manufacturing initiatives by maintaining organized workstations and reducing waste through efficient machining practices.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating CNC machinery such as CNC milling machines and CNC lathes.
- Strong manual machining skills with proficiency in using hand tools, grinders, boring bars, and other machining equipment.
- Expertise in reading mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, GD&T symbols, and interpreting manufacturing specifications.
- Knowledge of CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CAM programming software is a plus.
- Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately for precise fabrication.
- Skilled in the use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, dial indicators, and coordinate measuring machines for quality control purposes.
- Ability to perform machine setup, calibration, tooling installation, and basic math calculations related to machining tolerances.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent problem-solving skills; ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Schedule:
- 12 hour shift working two weeks on/ two weeks off.
- 8 hours of straight time per weekday /4 hours of over-time per weekday.
- Weekends are 12 hours of overtime per day.
- Roundtrip flights from Anchorage, Alaska to Deadhorse, Alaska are paid.
Experience:
- CNC Machinist: 1 year (Required)
- Manual Machinist: 1 year (Required)
Pay: $26.53 - $31.95 per hour
