Responsibilities
- Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history, verifying insurance information, and explaining procedures clearly and confidently.
- Perform diagnostic tests including visual acuity assessments, intraocular pressure measurements, autorefractions, keratometry, pachymetry, biometry, corneal topographies, visual fields, ophthalmic photography and OCTs.
- Assist ophthalmologist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment is prepared and maintained according to infection control standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment while adhering to safety protocols related to ophthalmic equipment and sterile techniques.
- Provide excellent patient care by addressing questions about procedures, ensuring comfort, and fostering a welcoming atmosphere for diverse patient populations of all ages.
Qualifications
· Minimum 3 years experience as an ophthalmic technician, COT preferred.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and ophthalmic procedures to support accurate testing and patient education.
- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality at all times.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities efficiently.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
