Laborers / Burners- Demolition
Sabre Demolition Corporation, a Nationally recognized Contractor in Demolition, Environmental Remediation and Industrial Services is seeking, Skilled Torch Cutters / Burners, for dismantling industrial equipment. This may include , Ground Burning and /or working out of a manlift. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Perform all work in accordance with Sabre’s safety protocols, general work procedures and policies.
- Assist with general demolition tasks as necessary. These tasks may include using hand tools, power tools, torch cutting, grinding and other manual demolition activities
- Perform numerous manual duties, including the operation of both manual and mechanical demolition equipment
- Be flexible to work independently or in a group setting with other laborers, operating engineers and tradespeople
- Execute tasks from detailed written and oral instructions
- Able to work at heights in excess of 50 feet above ground level and capable of operating man lifts
- Must be willing to work long hours, weekends and overtime, as necessary
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Minimum 3-5 years experience working with a torch
- Prior experience working in the demolition, industrial and/or construction industry
- Exemplify a strong work ethic and capable of working in a fast-paced environment
- Able to successfully pass all required job training(s)
- Must be physically able to perform job tasks and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to work in inclement weather or extreme conditions (e.g. confined space, heights, dust, noise, etc.)
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to and from work
- Sabre promotes a drug free workplace, applicants must pass pre-employment, annual and random drug screens
- Experience with behavioral-based safety programs (preferred)
- Current OSHA 10-Hour, 30-Hour and/or 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training (preferred)
- Current Asbestos Handler / Worker Certification (preferred)
- Experience with torch cutting, rigging and working around cranes (preferred)
