Scheduled Hours: Monday through Thursday 7am-3:330pm- ½ hour lunch
Job Purpose:
Oversee the stage in clothing production where fabrics are cut and ready to be made into garments; making sure the work is done accurately, cost-effectively, and to high standards. Moving products, cutting samples, taking inventory of material rolls, and aiding in all aspects of the cutting department.
Qualifications:
A good understanding of the clothing production process, strong math skills for measurements and basic calculations, organization, flexibility to maintain various tasks independently, and must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Authorities: Able to operate cutting equipment and manage time efficiently.
Certifications: Lift certification preferred
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate material handling of cut goods from the cutting room to the sewing floor
- Maintain appropriate inventory count of fabric raw materials
- Loading and unloading trucks for receiving
- Receive raw materials and store them in appropriate locations
- Monitor and maintain the cleanliness of the cutting area
- Learn and demonstrate proficiency in cutting materials for production
Daily
- Check cut book for daily work
- Roll and cut tables in order of cut book (unless otherwise told)
- Stack work on shelving in appropriate places
- Fill out cut sheet with all information (table and fabric) and deliver to the Production Manager
