Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Kennel Technician and become a vital part of providing exceptional care for animals in our pet care facility. In this energetic role, you will ensure the well-being, cleanliness, and safety of our furry residents while delivering outstanding customer service to pet owners. Your enthusiasm for animal care and attention to detail will help create a comfortable, clean, and loving environment for pets and peace of mind for their owners. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with animals daily and develop valuable skills in animal handling and pet care.
Shifts available include 4 to 7 pms and 7 am to 2 pm Monday through Sunday. We are able to be flexible with days depending on availability.
Duties
- Provide daily care for animals including feeding, watering, exercising, and administering medications as directed
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels, and common areas through regular sanitization and cleaning routines
- Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques to ensure both pet and staff safety
- Assist with pet boarding, pet sitting, and pet grooming services to enhance overall pet well-being
- Monitor animal behavior to identify signs of stress or illness, reporting concerns promptly to management
- Support outdoor work activities such as maintaining and cleaning outdoor kennels to promote a healthy environment
- Engage with pet owners professionally, answering questions about pet care services and providing updates on their pets’ status
Skills
- Previous animal care experience or veterinary technician experience is highly valued for understanding animal health needs
- Strong animal handling skills with knowledge of animal behavior and restraint techniques
- Experience in pet sitting, dog training, or kennel operations demonstrating reliability and compassion
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and team lifting when moving animals or equipment safely
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Knowledge of pet grooming, sanitation practices, and facility sanitization standards to maintain a clean environment
- Outdoor work experience that includes managing outdoor kennels comfortably and responsibly
- Ability to follow directions and work independently a must
