Responsibilities
- Operate the point-of-sale (POS) system accurately to process customer transactions, including cash, credit, and mobile payments
- Provide friendly and efficient customer service by addressing questions, offering product recommendations, and upselling items such as snacks, beverages, or car accessories
- Assist customers with fueling their vehicles safely and efficiently at the gas pumps, ensuring proper procedures are followed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area, shelves, and fuel station to promote safety and a positive shopping experience
- Conduct product demos or promotional activities when needed to inform customers about new or featured items
- Stock shelves, merchandise products attractively, and ensure inventory levels are maintained for a seamless shopping experience
- Handle cash accurately, perform basic math calculations for transactions, and balance register shifts at the end of each shift
Qualifications
- Previous cashiering experience in retail or grocery store environments preferred but not required; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers; bilingual abilities are a plus
- Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math for cash handling and transaction processing
- Demonstrated customer service skills with a friendly attitude and professional phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or in person
- Supervising experience is advantageous for those interested in leadership opportunities within the team
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing for long periods, stocking shelves, and operating fueling equipment safely
- A proactive mindset with enthusiasm for upselling products and enhancing the overall customer experience
