We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Support Specialist to provide exceptional care and assistance to individuals with diverse needs. Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor and document patient observations, vital signs, and overall health status regularly
- Administer medications following prescribed care plans while adhering to HIPAA regulations for privacy and confidentiality
- Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning to meet individual dietary needs
- Operate medical equipment such as Hoyer lifts and perform patient transfers safely and effectively
- Maintain a clean, safe environment by performing light cleaning duties and ensuring infection control standards are met
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement personalized care plans for each client
Requirements
- Prior experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group homes is highly preferred
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, memory care, autism spectrum disorders, and developmental disabilities is a plus
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physical tasks involved in patient handling
- Strong observational skills for monitoring patient condition and recognizing changes in health status
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are preferred for community-based support roles
