Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team, providing high-quality patient care across diverse clinical settings. In this role, you will collaborate closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive medical services, perform physical examinations, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans. Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments including intake, vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history review.
- Assist in diagnostic evaluation by interpreting laboratory results, imaging studies, and diagnostic tests such as radiology or ultrasound.
- Prescribe medications and treatment plans in accordance with collaborative practice agreements and HIPAA regulations.
- Perform procedures such as suturing, injection administration (including botulinum toxin treatments), wound care, and aseptic techniques.
- Manage acute pain and critical care cases, including ventilator management and airway support for hospitalized patients.
- Document patient encounters accurately within electronic health records (EHR/Epic/eClinicalWorks) while ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals across specialties including emergency medicine, hospital medicine, ICU teams, and outpatient clinics to optimize patient care.
Requirements
- Valid Physician Assistant license with current certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Demonstrated experience in hospital settings such as Level I or Level II trauma centers, emergency rooms, or intensive care units (ICU).
- Proficiency in EMR systems like Epic or Cerner; experience with EMR/EHR management is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, CPT coding, ICD-10/ICD-9 coding for accurate documentation and billing.
- Experience performing procedures including suturing, injections (e.g., botulinum toxin), phlebotomy, and ventilator management.
- Critical care experience with skills in airway management, diagnostic evaluation, medication administration, and infection control protocols.
- Ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as urgent care, outpatient clinics, or inpatient hospital units; prior hospital medicine or emergency medicine experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of healthcare diagnosis processes, clinical research methods, data collection techniques, and medical imaging interpretation is a plus.
- Excellent client communication skills with the ability to educate patients on health coaching and treatment options while maintaining confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
