We are seeking a highly organized, process-driven, and detail-oriented Shipping & Logistics Coordinator to oversee the daily movement of materials, fabricated products, and finished goods. This role is responsible for coordinating outbound shipments, scheduling deliveries, maintaining shipping documentation, improving logistics processes, and ensuring efficient communication between production, purchasing, project management, and field operations.
The ideal candidate is highly proficient with computer systems, enjoys creating organized processes, and has the ability to develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that improve efficiency, consistency, and accountability across shipping and logistics operations.
Key Responsibilities

Coordinate daily outbound shipments for commercial fabrication and construction projects.

Schedule deliveries and pickups with freight carriers and company drivers.

Prepare and maintain shipping documentation including bills of lading, packing slips, shipping labels, freight documentation, and delivery records.

Verify shipment accuracy by confirming quantities, dimensions, weights, and product identification before shipment.

Track shipments and proactively communicate delivery status, delays, and issues to internal teams and customers.

Coordinate material transfers between company locations and project sites.

Work closely with Production, Purchasing, Estimating, Project Management, and Field Installation teams to ensure projects remain on schedule.

Maintain accurate shipping records and update information within the company's systems.

Assist with inventory accuracy through shipment verification and cycle counts.

Develop, document, implement, and continuously improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for shipping, receiving, logistics coordination, and inventory processes.

Identify process improvement opportunities that increase efficiency, reduce errors, and improve customer service.

Create reports and analyze shipping metrics to identify trends, bottlenecks, and cost-saving opportunities.

Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable DOT and transportation regulations.

Support cross-functional initiatives and other operational projects as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience

Associate's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

3–5 years of experience in shipping, logistics, transportation, warehouse operations, or supply chain coordination.

Experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial environment strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience developing, documenting, and implementing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or process documentation.

Strong computer literacy with the ability to quickly learn and effectively utilize multiple software platforms.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams.

Experience creating reports, spreadsheets, and tracking metrics is highly preferred.
