We are hiring a dependable, experienced mechanic to diagnose, repair, and maintain a fleet of equipment including John Deere 544K payloaders (wheel loaders) and Genie aerial lifts (boom lifts / scissor lifts / telehandlers). This role supports shop operations and field needs while keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for work.
Job Requirements:
- Previous heavy equipment and/or aerial lift mechanical experience REQUIRED
- Strong understanding of hydraulics and electrical troubleshooting.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must have own basic tools.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple repairs.
- Able to lift/move 50+ lbs and work outdoors in North Dakota weather conditions.
- Specific experience with John Deere 544K or Genie/JLG lifts preferred.
- Welding or light fabrication skills are a plus.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Additional Details: Mechanics are responsible for the diagnostics, repair, and preventative maintenance of John Deere 544K payloaders and Genie manlifts (boom, scissor, and telehandlers). You will troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electrical, and drivetrain systems, including hoses, fittings, pumps, and sensors.
Individual will perform service intervals (fluids/filters) and conduct pre-trip/post-repair inspections to ensure safety and proper operation. Documentation of repair notes in work orders is required. You may be called upon to assist with field service calls and equipment breakdowns as needed. We maintain a clean, organized shop and follow strict safety procedures at all times.
Preferred Qualifications, not required:
- Specific experience with John Deere 544K or similar loaders
- Genie / JLG lift experience
- Rental fleet maintenance background
- Welding or light fabrication skills
- CDL (not required but a plus)
