SUMMARY
This is an apprentice level role for establishing the skills of first level welders with limited experience or welders who just coming out of welding school. It is expected most individuals hired into this position will proceed to their departmental placement within 6 months or less. A successful candidate is self-motivated and utilizes a strong work ethic to ensure all quality levels are met and career progression is established.
SALARY
REQUIREMENTS
- Must have a Welding Certificate and/or 1-6 months of previous welding or equivalent knowledge required.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Must be able to pass weld skill pre-employment assessment.
- Practice and pass basic ASME welder performance qualification tests if applicable.
- Intermediate math skills and ability to read a tape measure required.
- Must be able to distinguish between part numbers and sizes required.
- Must be able to count and label parts accurately.
- Must be able to learn pressure gauges and how to read them.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints strongly preferred.
