Position Title: Ground Crew Member
Reports To: Crew Foreman / Arborist/ Management

Position Summary
A1 Tree and Stump Removal is seeking a dependable and hardworking Ground Crew Member to support tree care operations and assist with the maintenance of company vehicles and equipment. This position plays a critical role in ensuring job sites operate safely and efficiently.
The ideal candidate enjoys working outdoors, values safety, and works well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesTree Care & Ground Operations
- Assist climbers, arborists, and crew leaders during tree removals, pruning, trimming, and stump grinding operations.
- Operate and maintain ground-based equipment including chainsaws, chippers, stump grinders, ropes, rigging equipment, and other tree care tools.
- Drag, cut, stack, and remove brush, logs, and debris from job sites.
- Feed brush and wood materials into chippers while maintaining safe operating procedures.
- Assist with tree rigging, lowering operations, and material handling as directed by crew leadership.
- Set up and break down job sites, including traffic control devices, cones, signs, and other safety measures.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas, vehicles, trailers, and equipment.
- Perform daily inspections of equipment and tools to ensure safe operation.
- Communicate effectively with crew members to coordinate work activities and maintain job site safety.
- Follow all company safety policies, OSHA standards, and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to frequently lift and carry 50–100 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
- Ability to work around heavy equipment, loud noise, dust, and changing weather conditions.
- Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and tree care equipment.
