Key Responsibilities
- Welcome every guest with warmth, professionalism, and genuine hospitality.
- Manage reservations using the restaurant's reservation platform.
- Coordinate seating arrangements to maximize guest satisfaction and dining room efficiency.
- Communicate wait times accurately and manage guest expectations.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus when appropriate.
- Maintain constant communication with management, servers, and support staff regarding table status and guest needs.
- Answer phones, respond to reservation inquiries, and assist guests with special requests.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and elegant host stand and entrance area.
- Recognize VIPs, returning guests, and special occasions to help create personalized experiences.
- Assist with coat check, gift card sales, or other guest services as needed.
- Thank guests upon departure and invite them to return.
Qualifications
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience preferred, ideally in upscale or fine dining.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and courteous during busy service periods.
- Experience with reservation systems such as OpenTable, Resy, or Toast is a plus.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
