Purchasing Agent – Electrical Contractor
Location: Queensbury, NY
Gross Electric Inc. is looking to add a Purchasing Agent to support our growing operations in along the East Coast. This role is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and tracking materials to keep projects moving efficiently and on budget.
Responsibilities:
- Procure materials, equipment, and tools based on project needs
- Solicit and compare pricing from vendors and suppliers
- Issue and track purchase orders
- Coordinate deliveries to job sites and warehouse
- Maintain relationships with vendors and negotiate pricing when possible
- Work with project managers and field teams to ensure material availability
- Track material costs and identify cost-saving opportunities
- Manage inventory levels and assist with warehouse coordination
Requirements:
- 3+ years of purchasing experience (electrical or construction preferred)
- Strong understanding of electrical materials and equipment
- Ability to read plans and material takeoffs is a plus
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication skills with both vendors and internal teams
- Proficient in Excel and basic purchasing/accounting systems

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
