Location: Maiden, NC
Starting Pay: $16.00/hour
Shift: Day Shift - 2-2-3 Rotating - 12 Hours - 6am-6pm
Position Summary
The Line Operator I is responsible for safely and efficiently operating a designated portion of the production line. This position will oversee approximately one-third of the manufacturing process, working in one of the following areas: Blend Line, Air Lay, or Oven Operations. The operator will monitor equipment performance, maintain product quality standards, and support overall production goals while following all safety and quality requirements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate assigned production equipment within the Blend Line, Air Lay, or Oven area.
- Monitor machine performance and make basic adjustments to ensure efficient operation.
- Inspect products throughout the production process to ensure quality standards are met.
- Record production data and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or downtime to supervisors.
- Perform routine cleaning and housekeeping of work areas and equipment.
- Follow all safety procedures, company policies, and standard operating procedures.
- Assist with product changeovers and startup/shutdown activities as needed.
- Communicate effectively with team members, maintenance personnel, and supervisors to ensure smooth production flow.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and maintain a safe, organized work environment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred but not required.
- Mechanical aptitude and ability to learn production equipment operations.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable attendance and dependable work habits.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
- Ability to lift, push, pull, and move materials up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with varying temperatures, noise levels, and production equipment.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
