Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and measuring to ensure smooth kitchen operations
- Assist with meal assembly and food plating according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Support the cooking process by following instructions from chefs and kitchen managers
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep station, including proper food storage and sanitation practices
- Handle food safely by adhering to all health regulations and safety protocols
- Assist with inventory management by stocking supplies and notifying supervisors of low stock levels
- Support catering events or special functions by preparing bulk ingredients or assembling plated dishes as needed
Requirements
- Previous experience in dietary departments, dietary aide roles, or food service environments is preferred but not required
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and cooking methods
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation are highly desirable
- Familiarity with food safety standards, proper food handling, and sanitation procedures
- Experience working in restaurants or the food industry demonstrating excellent food service skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff
