Cat’s Meow Personalized Gifts is a locally owned retail store dedicated to providing our customers with quality products, exceptional value, and outstanding service. We are expanding our team and looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Buyer to help select and manage the merchandise that keeps our customers coming back.
Position Summary
The Retail Store Buyer is responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and managing inventory to ensure the store offers the right products at the right time. The ideal candidate has strong analytical skills and a passion for understanding customer preferences and retail trends.
Key Responsibilities
- Research market trends and identify products that meet customer demand.
- Build and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers.
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and place purchase orders as needed.
- Analyze sales reports to optimize product selection and inventory turnover.
- Coordinate with store management on seasonal promotions and merchandising plans.
- Ensure inventory levels align with sales forecasts and budget goals.
- Resolve supplier issues related to pricing, quality, or delivery.
- Maintain accurate purchasing records and inventory data.
- Travel for buying trips 4 times per year.
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in retail buying, purchasing, inventory management, or merchandising preferred.
- Strong analytical and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and inventory management software, Lightspeed or similar program.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Knowledge of retail merchandising and consumer buying trends.
Pay: $23.06 - $27.77 per hour
