Summary:
The Procurement/Inventory Specialist is responsible for several important functions within our business including purchasing, material planning, receiving, kitting, inventory and vendor management. Our regular hours are 6 AM - 4 PM Monday-Thursday.
Duties:
- Identify material needs for ordering
- Negotiate price for procurement of materials
- Initiate purchase orders to ensure accurate and timely deliveries
- Kit materials for production
- Establish and maintain professional relationships with suppliers
- Resolve production part shortages /inventory control and kitting issues
- Generate reports for kitting and inventory cycle counts
- Provide information to adjust discrepant orders/exceptions messages
- Cancel orders not received or returned to stock
- Create and maintain bills of materials and part numbers for jobs in the system
- Record, inspect and validate incoming materials
- Review packing slips for shipments to ensure quantities, destination and routing are correct
- Record discrepancies or damage of incoming materials and notify the necessary management or supplier for resolution
- Sort, count and ensure inventory is correct for shipping, receiving, kitting product
- Store inventory in correct location for accurate logging and counts
- Coordinate movement of materials including production, raw materials, WIP, finished goods, throughout the facility as well as in and out
- Prepare kits for production using the first in first out (FIFO) method
- Prepare shipping documents including packing slips, invoices and international shipping documents
- Ensure proper labels/documents are on the packages for shipment
- Send invoices and advanced shipping notices to customers
- Coordinate with production to ensure products are packaged for shipment based on customer specifications
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read and understand English
- Ability to use a computer and hand tools
- Attention to detail and quality
- Strong organization, problem solving and prioritization skills
- Ability to work independently
Physical Demands and Environment:
Position requires standing for extended periods (8-10 hours a day), sitting, stooping, handling small electronic components, and performing repetitive tasks with a high level of attention to detail as well as extended periods of time looking at a computer screen. Often bending, reaching, and light climbing. Perform simple hand grasp and dexterity movements with hands and fingers. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs and work in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
