Duties
- Assist in overseeing daily clinic operations, ensuring adherence to health regulation policies and compliance standards such as HIPAA and JCAHO guidelines
- Support fiscal management activities including budgeting, medical billing, and financial reporting to optimize practice profitability
- Supervise and coordinate healthcare staff, including dental assistants, receptionists, and administrative personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment
- Manage patient records using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Dentrix ascend
- Facilitate medical administrative support tasks such as appointment scheduling, patient management software utilization, and medical records maintenance
- Monitor clinic workflows to improve efficiency, patient satisfaction, and compliance with healthcare practice management standards
- Assist with human resources functions including onboarding new staff, managing performance reviews, and ensuring team adherence to health regulation policies
Qualifications
- Proven experience in medical office management or healthcare practice management within a dental or medical setting
- Strong supervisory skills with experience managing teams in a healthcare environment
- Extensive knowledge of dental office systems such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, or similar EMR/EHR platforms
- Familiarity with fiscal management including budgeting, financial reporting, and medical billing processes
- Excellent managerial communication skills paired with customer service expertise to support staff and patient relations
- Comprehensive understanding of healthcare regulations such as HIPAA compliance and JCAHO standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) for administrative tasks
- Prior experience with acute care or hospital settings is advantageous but not required; veterinary or critical care experience is also valuable for versatile candidates
