Job Overview
The Business Development Manager for this leading haircare products and styling tools manufacturer must have experience selling through professional haircare products to the licensed professional hair distribution channel in the West Coash (UT, CO, NV, AZ, CA).
Responsible for driving strategic growth across the professional salon channel through distributor partnerships ie: CosmoProf, SalonCentric, Beauty Systems Group (BSG) on the West coast, strategic account development, field activation and education.
This role focuses on sell through, expanding market presences, strengthening professional relationships and identifying scalable business opportunities.
Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Education , Brand and Field teams to execute growth strategies that elevate brand visibility, stylist engagement, account productivity and professional loyalty within the salon industry.
This role combines strong commercial business acumen with STRATEGIC EDUCATION SUPPORT to ensure brands remain competitive, innovative and engaged in the professional beauty space.
Requirements
- 3+ years business development experience within the professional haircare industry with proven experience in distributor management including SalonCetnric, CosmoProf/BSG, Ulta Beauty, etc., field sales, account growth and professional channel support
- Experience supporting professional learning education initiatives & field activations
- Licensed Cosmetologist (specializing in HAIR) REQUIRED
- MUST LIVE IN WEST COAST REGION (UT, CO, NV, AZ (HIGHLY PREFERRED), CA
- Valid Driver's License with ability to travel 50-60% including weekends and industry events as necessary
Responsibilities
Strategic Business Development & Channel Growth
- Identify and execute strategic growth opportunities within the professional salon, prestige retail and distributor channels.
- Drive new account acquisition, account expansion, white space opportunities, emerging markets, new revenue channels and increased productivity with existing salon and distributor partnerships.
- Develop and drive strategic territory and business growth plans.
- Partner with distributor sales teams and consultants with large independent distributors, providing product knowledge and selling tools, thereby increasing market penetration, brand visibility and sell-through.
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity and consumer insights to adapt strategies and monitor performance metrics of the business and field activity to determine effectiveness and deploy optimized strategies.
- Support forecasting, budget management and ROI evaluation for business development initiatives, activations and events.
Distributor Partnerships & Strategic Account Development
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with distributors, salon owners, stylists.
- Support distributor growth through collaborative planning, field support, education and promotional activities.
- Partner with distributors to identify high-potential accounts and growth opportunities.
- Conduct regular business reviews with leadership.
- Participate in trade shows, events, distributor meetings and field activations.
Strategic Education Support
- Partner with Education teams to support strategic education initiatives to drive stylist engagement, product adoption and sales conversion.
- Support the execution of classes, field activations, workshops, trade events and distributor educational experiences.
- Strategically deploy field education resources upon review of areas of opportunity to support market growth.
- Assist in developing educational and business-building tools that support distributor and salon success.
- Support onboarding initiatives that strength brand knowledge, positioning, product understanding and professional advocacy.
Sales & Marketing
- Align strategic initiatives that maximize business impact by partnering with Sales, Marketing, Brand, Creative and Education teams.
- Support promotional campaigns, product launches, field marketing initiatives and professional events.
- Create sales presentations, business recaps, training materials and distributor support assets.
- Provide market feedback and insights to leadership teams.
- Participate in strategic planning conversations related to professional channel growth and field activation.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
