Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Assistant and Float Childcare Teacher to support our early childhood education programs. This role involves assisting with classroom activities, providing coverage across multiple classrooms, and supporting the development of young children in a nurturing environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development, experience working with children, and strong communication skills. Duties
- Assist lead teachers with curriculum development and lesson planning tailored to various age groups, including toddlers and preschoolers.
- Provide direct care and supervision for children, ensuring their safety and well-being during classroom activities and transitions.
- Support classroom management strategies that promote positive behavior and social-emotional development.
- Cover different classrooms as needed, serving as a float teacher to ensure continuity of care and instruction across multiple groups.
- Engage children in age-appropriate play, learning exercises, and structured activities that foster curiosity and growth.
- Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff to support child welfare and developmental progress.
- Assist in maintaining a clean, organized classroom environment that adheres to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school settings, or similar environments.
- Knowledge of childhood development theories, behavior management techniques, and classroom management strategies.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with staff and engage with children’s families.
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments as a float teacher while maintaining professionalism and enthusiasm for teaching young children.
- Childcare certification or relevant early childhood education credentials are desirable but not mandatory.
