Job Title: Field Support (OTR)
Job Summary
The Field Support role provides direct support to ready mix drivers in the field across project and plant locations. This position ensures drivers have the resources, guidance, and assistance needed to perform their work safely, and efficiently.
The Field Support acts as the front-line contact for drivers, assisting with troubleshooting equipment issues, coordinating with dispatch and maintenance, and supporting drivers during day-to-day operations. This position requires extensive travel to field and project sites, as well as flexibility to work during operational hours, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends.
Key Responsibilities
1. Driver Field Support

Serve as the point of contact for ready mix drivers needing assistance in the field.

Respond to driver issues at job sites or while on the road, coordinating support with dispatch and maintenance.

Ensure drivers have required resources such as PPE, forms, or technology tools.

Assist with job site access, traffic coordination, and delivery troubleshooting.
2. Compliance & Safety Support

Verify drivers maintain current CDL licenses, DOT medical cards, and required certifications.

Conduct field-level compliance checks (e.g., inspections, hours of service monitoring).

Partner with Safety and Dispatch to reinforce driver adherence to DOT/FMCSA regulations and company safety policies.

Support incident reviews by gathering field-level documentation and driver input.
3. Communication & Coordination

Act as a liaison between drivers, dispatch, safety, and management.

Provide updates on field issues, delivery delays, or incidents.

Share driver feedback with supervisors to improve processes and communication.
4. Training & Mentoring Support

Assist with new driver onboarding, including field ride-alongs or job site orientation.

Reinforce best practices for safe driving, delivery procedures, and customer interactions.

Provide one-on-one coaching as directed by the Driver Manager or Project Manager.
5. Administrative & Reporting

Maintain records of driver field support interactions and issues addressed.

Complete checklists, compliance reviews, and driver feedback reports.

Provide regular updates to management on recurring issues or operational improvements.
6. Facility & Equipment Support

Maintain clean, organized, and professional work areas, vehicles, and equipment.

Identify and report maintenance needs, facility concerns, hazards, and housekeeping issues.

Coordinate with Operations and Maintenance to address field-related equipment and facility issues.

Support company standards for fleet appearance, housekeeping, and overall site condition.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor or management to support operational and business needs.

Requirements

Previous experience in ready mix, transportation, or construction industry preferred.

Knowledge of DOT/FMCSA compliance requirements.

Mechanical aptitude for assisting drivers with minor field troubleshooting.

Valid driver’s license with clean MVR; CDL preferred but not required.

Ability and willingness to travel frequently to job sites and project locations.

Flexibility to work early mornings, late nights, weekends, and overtime as needed.

Regular and predictable attendance required.
Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods of time.

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds (driver supplies, equipment, or tools).

Frequent bending, kneeling, climbing, and working around trucks and heavy equipment.

Tolerance for outdoor work in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, dust).

Ability to work in environments with loud noise, moving vehicles, and job site activity.
Working Conditions
