Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Prep Cook / Kitchen Prep team member to join our vibrant café environment. Duties
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, and portioning produce according to recipes and safety standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, mixing, and assembling menu items efficiently and accurately
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including knives, slicers, mixers, and cooking appliances
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to uphold health and safety regulations
- Support meal assembly and plating for service periods while adhering strictly to recipe guidelines
- Follow food safety protocols for handling raw ingredients and cooked foods to prevent contamination
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of food orders
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Food industry experience including restaurant or catering work provides a strong foundation for success in this role
- Knowledge of menu planning, food preparation techniques, and culinary practices enhances performance
- Familiarity with safety standards in food production and food handling procedures is essential
- Demonstrated ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination with kitchen staff and team members
- Experience with knife skills, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence is preferred for precision in meal prep
