Amaira Med Spa & Surgical Centers is seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist / Surgical Assistant to join our growing surgical team. This position is ideal for a highly organized, motivated, and detail-oriented surgical professional who thrives in a fast-paced operating room environment and is passionate about delivering exceptional patient care.
The ideal candidate will have strong operating room experience, excellent sterile technique, experience assisting surgeons during procedures, and the ability to multitask between surgical support, inventory management, patient flow, and medical documentation.
This is not an entry-level position.
Position Summary
The Surgical Technologist / Surgical Assistant is responsible for assisting surgeons during cosmetic surgical procedures, maintaining sterile technique, supporting patient care throughout the surgical process, assisting with wound closure and suturing support, managing supplies and inventory, and ensuring efficient operating room operations.
The successful candidate will be capable of working independently while collaborating closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, nurses, and administrative staff.

Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesSurgical Assistance
- Assist surgeons during cosmetic surgical procedures including body contouring, liposuction, breast procedures, facial procedures, and other plastic surgery cases.
- Provide surgical assistance including retraction, exposure, instrument handling, and procedural support.
- Assist with wound closure and suturing support.
- Demonstrate strong sewing skills and familiarity with surgical closure techniques.
- Anticipate surgeon needs throughout procedures.
- Apply dressings and assist with post-operative preparation.
Operating Room & Sterile Technique
- Maintain strict sterile technique at all times.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing and infection control standards.
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields.
- Set up operating rooms and surgical instrumentation prior to procedures.
- Assist with room turnover between cases.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, AAAASF, and all applicable safety standards.
- Monitor and maintain surgical equipment and instruments.
Inventory & Supply Management
- Order and maintain surgical supplies and inventory.
- Track usage of supplies and equipment.
- Assist with inventory counts and audits.
- Coordinate supply needs with vendors and management.
- Ensure operating rooms remain fully stocked and organized.
Clinical Documentation
- Assist with medical charting and EMR documentation.
- Ensure surgical records are complete and accurate.
- Support patient documentation and compliance requirements.
- Maintain organized and accurate patient records.
Patient Care
- Prepare and position patients for surgical procedures.
- Verify patient documentation, consent forms, and treatment plans.
- Support patient flow throughout the surgical day.
- Deliver compassionate, professional patient care at all times.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology Program.
- Surgical Technology Degree or Certification required.
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required.
- Minimum two (2) years of recent experience in a Hospital Operating Room, Ambulatory Surgery Center, or Plastic Surgery Surgical Center.
- Strong knowledge of sterile technique and sterile processing procedures.
- Experience assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Experience with surgical sewing, suturing support, and wound closure assistance.
- Experience preparing and maintaining sterile fields.
- Experience with medical charting and EMR systems.
- Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between Amaira locations when needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Plastic Surgery experience.
- Cosmetic Surgery experience.
- Awake Liposuction experience.
- First Assistant experience.
- ACLS Certification.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during surgical procedures.
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced operating room environment.
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
