American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an ER Holding position requiring telemetry skills and NM or compact RN licensure.

Work in the Adult Admission Inpatient Unit (AAU), a fast-paced ER Holding unit adjacent to the Emergency Department
-
Unit admits patients from the ED and provides inpatient standard of care until placement on one of 11 progressive care units
-
Diverse patient population spanning all specialties except ICU-level patients
-
17 beds plus up to 8 hall beds with frequent patient turnover
-
Patient ratio of 1 RN to 4-5 patients
-
Night shift, 4x12 hours, 19:00-7:30

Uses Cerner charting system
-
Float required to the ED for admitted patients, ICU for sub-acute care assignments, and any inpatient PCU area
-
No on-call requirements
-
Relief charge duties may be required as needed
-
Active RN license (NM or Compact) required, pending license accepted

Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS (RQI certifications not accepted)

Minimum 1 year of RN experience required

Telemetry monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias required

Skilled in cardiac drip management (no titration), IV therapy, and phlebotomy

Level I Trauma experience preferred

Previous charge experience preferred

Willingness to work relief charge as needed

Level I Trauma Center, Children's Hospital, and Teaching Hospital with 554 staffed beds
-
Monitor and interpret telemetry, manage a variety of medical equipment, and demonstrate strong time management skills

Must work 2 of the 3 holiday bundles: Thanksgiving & the day after, Christmas Eve & Christmas Day, or New Year's Eve & New Year's Day
