Job Summary
We are seeking an energetic and strategic leader to serve as the General Manager - Construction, overseeing all facets of construction operations within our organization. Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the entire construction division, including project planning, execution, and delivery to ensure projects meet quality standards, deadlines, and budget expectations.
- Develop and implement strategic plans to expand business opportunities while maintaining operational efficiency and profitability.
- Oversee profit & loss statements, conducting detailed financial analysis to identify areas for cost savings and revenue growth.
- Drive team development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management to cultivate a high-performing workforce.
- Coordinate with clients, stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams to ensure clear communication and seamless project execution.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making tools such as Excel data analysis to monitor project metrics, resource allocation, and operational KPIs.
- Implement lean management principles and process improvements to streamline workflows and enhance productivity across all projects.
- Manage business development efforts by identifying new markets, building client relationships, and expanding the company's construction portfolio.
- Oversee operational management including safety compliance, quality assurance, procurement processes, and subcontractor relations.
- Foster a culture of leadership within the organization by promoting teamwork, innovation, and continuous learning at all levels.
Qualifications
- Proven management experience within the construction industry or related fields with a track record of successful project delivery.
- Strong financial management experience with proficiency in profit & loss analysis and budget control.
- Excellent skills in Excel data analysis for reporting and strategic decision-making purposes.
- Demonstrated expertise in project management methodologies and business management practices.
- Experience leading executive-level teams with effective managerial communication skills.
- Ability to develop strategic plans that align with organizational goals while driving operational excellence.
- Background in team management including team development, leadership, supervision, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge of sales strategies and business development within the construction sector is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with lean management techniques, process improvement initiatives, and operational best practices.
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams towards shared goals while maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
