Qualifications:
- EIPA score of 3.5 or higher required
- Experience in K-12 or high school settings preferred
- Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL)
- Understanding of educational interpreting in a school setting
- Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative mindset
- Excellent reliability and professionalism
Responsibilities:
- Interpret classroom discussions, instructions, and activities for a high school student
- Facilitate communication between the student, teachers, and peers
- Adapt interpreting approaches based on the student’s needs and classroom dynamics
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to best practices for educational interpreters
- Collaborate with teaching staff and support professionals as needed
- Support the student’s participation in extracurricular or school-sponsored events during assigned hours
