The Adams County Health Department currently seeks a full time Public Health Nurse. The position requirements and description includes:
Requirements:
Current Illinois licensure as a RN; valid driver’s license. Experience in Maternal Child Health, preferred.
Description of Position:
Public health nursing is the practice of promoting and protecting the health of populations.
General Duties:
- Ability to gain a productive rapport with the public served.
- Educate pregnant women and moms on best practices related to self-care, infant care and nutrition in their home.
- Assess and prioritize for risk factors.
- Obtain objective information for assessments:
Lead levels, blood pressures, height and weight and head circumference measurements.
- Case Management of moms and babies.
- Collaborate with other community agencies.
- Perform TB tests and readings.
- Aid in planning and working community flu clinics.
- Coordinating educational programs and trainings when needed.
- Connect clients with other services as needed.
- Perform other Public Health Nurse duties as assigned.
Job Type: Full-time
