KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Works with individual students or small groups in a variety of educational settings, including classrooms, resource rooms, and community-based learning environments.
- Carries out instructional activities as designed and directed by a certified staff member.
- Maintains and records data regarding student performance and progress as assigned.
- Supports accommodations and modifications identified in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Section 504 Plans.
- Assists with the setup and use of instructional technology, equipment, media, and classroom materials.
- Prepares instructional materials and assists with the organization of classroom resources and supplies.
- Helps ensure students’ personal safety and well-being throughout the school day.
- Provides information and assistance to substitute staff in the absence of the regular teacher.
- Assists with the supervision of students in classrooms, hallways, cafeterias, playgrounds, buses, and other assigned school environments.
- Maintains strict confidentiality of student information in accordance with district policies.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervising teacher, building administrator, or Pupil Services Department/
QUALIFICATIONS: At least two years of college coursework or successful completion of the Praxis ParaPro Assessment. Demonstrated competence in the basic academic skills of reading, writing, and mathematics. Effective interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, related service providers, administrators, and other staff.
SALARY: Per Paraeducator Contract ($19.67) plus excellent benefits
