**Position Overview: Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)**
- **Coverage Duration:** Immediate start for 3 months (13 weeks) with the option for extension.
- **Work Environment:** Both hospital and ambulatory surgery center settings.
- **Facility Size:** - Hospital: 460 beds with 17 operating rooms (ORs) and 3 labor and delivery (L&D) rooms. - Ambulatory Surgery Center: 5 ORs.
- **Shifts/Scheduling:** - Predominantly Monday to Friday with potential coverage on weekends, maximum once per month. - Shift structure: Options for 5x8 or 4x10, either 11 PM to 7:30 AM or 9 PM to 7:30 AM.
- **Clinical Responsibilities:**
- Competence with healthy pediatric patients is essential; obstetric (OB) experience preferred but not mandatory
. - Candidates should ideally be capable of managing a full range of anesthesia cases, although this is not a requirement. - Focus on lower-acuity pediatric cases, with no critical pediatric patients as care is provided by dedicated pediatric anesthesiologists.
- Case types include orthopedic, pediatric, urological, gastrointestinal (GI), interventional radiology, head and neck, catheterization lab, spinal procedures, and epidurals.
- **Call Requirements:** No call obligations.
- **Patient Volume/Census:** Patient load contingent on scheduled cases for the day.
- **Staffing Ratio:** 1:1 CRNA to anesthesiologist ratio per shift, supported by available staff.
- **Electronic Medical Records (EMR):** EPIC system utilized.
- **Certification Requirements:** Candidates must possess current Board Certification, along with BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications per American Heart Association standards.
- **Licensing Candidates:** No consideration for licensing candidates will be entertained.
