Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled, patient, and encouraging tutor to support a college engineering student enrolled in Differential Equations (Applied Math 106). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mathematics as well as engineering, physics, and/or a related quantitative discipline, with prior experience teaching or tutoring at the college level.
This student will begin the course in the fall, but we are seeking a tutor who can begin working during the summer to establish a strong foundation, preview upcoming concepts, and potentially work ahead on course material. The goal is to allow additional time for mastery of challenging topics and to build confidence before the academic term begins.
Once the course begins, tutoring sessions will focus on reviewing and re-teaching material after lectures as needed, reinforcing key concepts, supporting homework completion, and developing effective problem-solving strategies. The ideal tutor will be comfortable adapting explanations to the student's learning style and pace, ensuring both comprehension and academic success.
