Job Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Painter (Powder Coater) / Sandblaster to join our 1st shift production team. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing and applying powder coatings to metal parts, sandblasting surfaces, and performing grinding tasks to ensure all materials are clean, smooth, and ready for coating. The ideal candidate will take pride in producing high-quality finishes while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate powder coating equipment to apply even, high-quality finishes to metal components
- Prepare parts for coating by cleaning, masking, and hanging/unhanging them as needed
- Sandblast surfaces to remove rust, paint, or other contaminants to prepare for coating
- Perform grinding to clean up welds, smooth edges, and ensure proper surface preparation
- Ensure parts meet specified thickness, texture, and finish standards
- Maintain powder coating booths, spray guns, sandblasting, and grinding equipment
- Inspect finished work for quality and ensure parts meet production specifications
- Follow all safety protocols and wear proper PPE (respirator, protective clothing, etc.)
- Assist with packaging and staging finished products for shipping or further assembly
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
Experience
- Prior experience in powder coating, sandblasting, and grinding required
- Familiarity with electrostatic spray equipment, grinders, and curing ovens preferred
- Ability to follow technical instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures
- Basic mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Experience using hand and power tools, overhead cranes, and forklifts is a plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Must be able to work in hot, dusty, and noisy environments

- Overtime may be available as needed
