Responsibilities
- Provide visionary leadership to the daycare team, setting high standards for quality care and educational excellence.
- Oversee daily classroom activities, ensuring they align with developmental milestones and curriculum standards.
- Maintain compliance with all licensing regulations, mandated reporting laws, and safety protocols, including pediatric first aid and CPR requirements.
- Foster strong communication with parents and guardians, providing updates on children’s progress and addressing concerns proactively.
- Manage staff recruitment, training, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development in areas such as child supervision, behavior management, and classroom management.
- Implement policies that support inclusive practices for children with disabilities or special needs while promoting a nurturing environment for all children.
- Ensure health and safety standards are consistently met through regular inspections, sanitation procedures, and emergency preparedness drills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience working with children in daycare centers or early childhood education settings, including classroom experience with preschoolers and infants.
- Strong knowledge of childhood development instruction, behavior management strategies, and classroom management techniques.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (including pediatric first aid), and familiarity with mandated reporting laws.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to motivate staff, communicate effectively with parents, and manage day-to-day operations confidently.
- Background in early childhood education or related fields such as special education or childhood development instruction.
- Excellent organizational skills to oversee licensing compliance, staff scheduling, curriculum planning, and record keeping.
