JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: Team Leader FLSA STATUS: Non Exempt
REPORTS TO: Supervisor, Manufacturing (Assembly)
SUMMARY
This position is responsible for the training of employees in standardized work, problem solving and removal of bottlenecks from the production line. Fills in as needed for utilities and operators.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Under general supervision is responsible for the following major tasks (check those that apply):
- Train and develop operators in standardized work (training to the OIS and Quality Boards).
- Perform end-of-line quality sorts to find defects, and train operators to build without defects.
- Fill in for absent operators and utilities [as needed] to maintain on-time production.
- Assist operators and utilities to maintain production at 100% rate and 100% quality parts.
- Assist in the removal of bottlenecks from the manufacturing operation by helping the operators maintain on time production and assisting utility personnel in re-supplying parts and removing finished goods from the production area..
- Actively participate in ongoing product and process improvement in support of the Summit Lean manufacturing System.
- Follow the ILU criteria for the department and update the department’s ILU charts.
- Maintain Production Analysis Boards for production feedback.
- Work with the supervisor on 8D’s and problem solving.
- Assist in maintaining the work area in an orderly and safe condition.
- Communicate all issues with previous and incoming team leaders.
- Comply with environmental health and safety system.
- Other tasks or projects as assigned by supervisor.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or GED
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Possesses the ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
- A minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 16 on the Cognitive portion).
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
This position typically does not require any travel.
