Position Summary
The Marketing Representative will be the company’s lead contact in communicating with the agency force in a defined area. This position will assist with the communication and implementation of company programs to the agency force. This position will successfully negotiate new business production commitments and obtain desired results. This position will be the initial contact for new services and sales with the company’s agency force. The Marketing Representative will be responsible for recruiting new agents and following up on leads for agency interviews.
Primary Responsibilities
- Correspond with assigned agencies via office visits, phone, email, text or other means to answer questions, address concerns, conduct audits, gather information and other assigned duties.
- Assist agents with co-op advertising plans.
- Assist agents with reviewing underwriting risks.
- Assist and train agents on company business systems and tools.
- Assist agencies in developing and implementing business plans.
- Recommend pricing, product changes and strategies to improve profitability.
- Recommend new appointments, agency rehabilitation, and agency terminations.
- Maintain competitor information on pricing and products.
- Communicate to and train agents on the company’s philosophy, sales and underwriting programs.
- Assist with the implementation of the company’s marketing strategy.
- Assist in developing the requirements of agency information including reports and website.
- Assist with the implementation of agency contests and reward programs.
- Communicate agency issues to company personnel.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Four-year undergraduate degree, CPCU/AIC designation or equivalent work experience
- 2+ years of Property and Casualty Insurance experience
- Excellent written and verbal skills
- Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent negotiating skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Multi-task and detail oriented
- Demonstrates high level of professionalism
- Strong leadership skills
- Ability to train others
- Excellent presentation skills

- Willing and able to travel including overnight stays, work after normal business hours and adjust schedule as may be required by circumstances
- Possess a valid Ohio Driver License with a good driving record

Working conditions
This position may be performed at the company headquarters in a traditional office environment full-time, at one’s remote office full time, or a hybrid schedule of part-time at the company headquarters and part-time at one’s remote office. This position operates in a professional office environment. This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and printers/copiers. This position regularly travels to a variety of destinations in a motor vehicle. Position requires some overnight stays and off business hours support. Depending on territory the position may require a home office.
