Duties
- Assist senior stylists with hair cutting, styling, coloring, and finishing techniques while learning industry best practices
- Support the application of hair extensions, eyelash extensions, and nail care treatments under supervision
- Practice sanitation and sterilization protocols to ensure a safe and hygienic environment for clients and staff
- Operate salon software systems such as MINDBODY for appointment scheduling, client management, and retail sales tracking
- Engage with clients at the front desk by greeting guests, managing bookings, and providing excellent customer service
- Participate in retail sales through upselling products like hair care, makeup, and retail accessories to enhance client satisfaction
- Learn store management basics including inventory control, retail math, and merchandising strategies
- Develop communication skills by mentoring clients on hair care routines, product recommendations, and service options
Experience
- Previous experience working in the beauty industry or cosmetology school coursework is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
- Familiarity with salon software such as MINDBODY or similar platforms is a plus
- Knowledge of hair coloring techniques, color theory, barbering, and styling methods will accelerate your growth in this role
- Experience with sanitation standards, hair threading, makeup application, and nail care enhances your versatility as an apprentice
