Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Biller-Coder to join our Home Visiting Practice team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for accurately coding medical records, claims, and billing information to ensure seamless revenue cycle management. Your expertise will help optimize billing processes, improve claim acceptance rates, and support the delivery of quality care. Responsibilities
- Review and interpret medical documentation, including clinical notes, diagnoses, and procedures related to home visiting services
- Apply appropriate coding standards such as ICD-9, ICD-10 (International Classification of Diseases), CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), and DRG (Diagnosis-Related Group) to ensure accurate classification of services
- Ensure compliance with medical coding guidelines and insurance third-party billing requirements
- Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and EMR/EHR systems for billing, coding, and record-keeping purposes
- Collaborate with medical office staff to verify medical records and facilitate correct medical collection and billing processes
- Process health insurance claims efficiently, resolving any discrepancies or denials related to coding or documentation
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of health insurance policies, medical terminology, and revenue cycle management best practices
Skills
- Strong understanding of ICD-9, ICD-10 coding systems, CPT coding, and DRG classifications
- Experience with medical billing software and electronic health record (EHR) systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical records management, and coding guidelines for inpatient and outpatient services
- Familiarity with health insurance claim processing, third-party billing, and revenue cycle management
- Ability to interpret complex medical documentation accurately and efficiently
- Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills
- Effective communication skills for collaboration within healthcare teams
