Position Summary
The Student Learner Success Specialist provides academic support, intervention strategies, and career readiness assistance to students enrolled in Career-Technical Education (CTE) programs at Theodore Roosevelt High School, serving students from Kent City Schools and participating districts within the Six District Educational Compact. Working collaboratively with CTE instructors, academic teachers, counselors, administrators, and special education staff, the Specialist helps students overcome academic barriers, prepare for assessments, meet graduation requirements, and successfully complete their career-technical programs.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide EOC, WebXam, industry credential, and other test-taking intervention strategies to students enrolled in Compact Career-Technical Education programs.

Assist Career-Technical Education instructors with test-taking strategies.

Collaborate with academic teachers to support CTE students experiencing difficulty with coursework and academic performance.

Monitor and support student progress in Edmentum and other online learning platforms to help students stay on track for graduation and program completion.·

Work with the Compact Career-Technical Education/Special Education Transition Specialist to determine appropriate assistance and interventions for students with disabilities.

Maintain records of student interventions and progress.

Reports to the Career-Technical Education Administrator of the host district.

Meets with the Executive Director of the Six District Educational Compact three times annually to establish priorities and review program effectiveness.
Certificate/License Requirements:

Ohio Teaching License 7-12
