Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.
The Director of Aftercare and Student Success at St. Louis Catholic Academy oversees the school's aftercare program and student support initiatives, ensuring students are provided with a safe, structured, and faith-centered environment that promotes academic, social, emotional, and spiritual growth. This position leads the daily operations of the aftercare program, supports student achievement and well-being, and collaborates with faculty, staff, and families to help students thrive both inside and outside the classroom.
- Oversee the daily operations, staffing, and supervision of the school's aftercare program.
- Ensure a safe, positive, and engaging environment for students participating in aftercare activities.
- Develop and implement programs that support student success, enrichment, character development, and academic growth.
- Monitor student attendance, behavior, and participation within the aftercare program.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to identify and address student support needs.
- Coordinate homework assistance, tutoring opportunities, and academic enrichment activities as appropriate.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate aftercare staff and volunteers.
- Maintain program schedules, records, policies, and procedures in accordance with school requirements.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress, program updates, and concerns.
- Plan and coordinate enrichment activities, recreation, special events, and student engagement opportunities.
- Ensure compliance with all school safety procedures, child supervision requirements, and Archdiocesan policies.
- Support student wellness initiatives and foster a culture of respect, responsibility, and inclusion.
- Manage aftercare program budgets, supplies, and resources as assigned.
- Uphold and support the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and St. Louis Catholic Academy.
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Child Development, Counseling, Social Work, Educational Leadership, or a related field preferred.
- Experience working with school-aged children in an educational, aftercare, youth development, or related setting required.
- Previous supervisory or program management experience preferred.
- Strong communication, organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, faculty, and staff.
- Knowledge of student development, behavior management, and academic support strategies.
- Commitment to fostering a faith-based educational environment.
- Ability to manage multiple responsibilities while maintaining a student-centered focus.
- School-based setting with responsibilities in classrooms, aftercare spaces, and school facilities.
- Requires standing, walking, bending, lifting, and active supervision of students throughout the workday.
- May require occasional evening hours for family events, meetings, or school activities.
- Fast-paced environment requiring flexibility, strong leadership, and responsiveness to student and program needs.
