ABC Waste of Savannah, Inc. is looking for a Roll-Off Dispatcher/Customer Service Rep for our Roll-off division. ABC Waste of Savannah, Inc. was started in 1956 and is the oldest waste collection company in Georgia. Job Summary
We are seeking an organized, fast-thinking Roll-Off Dispatcher/Customer Service Rep to join our team. In this role, you will be the central hub of our daily Roll-Off operations. You will schedule, route, and dispatch a fleet of roll-off container trucks to ensure efficient waste management and construction hauling services. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment, possesses sharp geographical knowledge, and communicates clearly under pressure.
Customer Service:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- Route Optimization: Create, adjust, and assign daily routes for roll-off drivers to maximize efficiency and fuel economy.
- Driver Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, providing real-time support, route changes, and instructions.
- Customer Service: Answer incoming calls from customers to schedule container deliveries, swaps, and final pickups.
- Problem Resolution: Resolve daily field issues instantly, including traffic delays, blocked job sites, and equipment breakdowns.
- Data Entry & Tracking: Utilize dispatch software and GPS tracking systems to monitor driver progress and log service completions accurately.
- Other minor duties may be assigned.
Qualifications
The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job:
- Experience: 2+ years of experience in dispatching, logistics, or fleet routing
- Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with routing/dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
- Geographical Knowledge: Strong familiarity with the local geographic area, traffic patterns, and truck-restricted routes.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.
- Multitasking: Proven ability to manage multiple phone lines and digital screens simultaneously.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Previous logistics/dispatching experience is a plus.
