Automotive Repair Service Writer
Location: Beachview Auto Service – 4920 Arendell St. Morehead City, NC 28557
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (1-hour lunch)
Compensation: $15-$20 per hour base wage, with commission and bonuses available

Beachview Auto Service is a fast-paced, family-oriented, and customer-focused automotive repair shop specializing in residential and fleet vehicle repairs and maintenance. We are looking for a full-time Automotive Repair Service Writer to manage customer interactions, service workflows, and vendor coordination. The right candidate will be a "People Person," who is highly organized, able to multitask effectively, and have extremely strong customer service skills.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers in person and over the phone, listen to their concerns, and explain recommended repairs and services
- Educate customers on our technicians' findings (not selling parts and services they do not need!)
- Schedule service appointments, manage repair timelines, and keep customers updated throughout the process
- Handle approximately 70 or more customers per week, manage vendor orders, process parts returns, and coordinate phone and walk-in inquiries
- Order parts, communicate with vendors about returns, and process labor claims for defective items
- Work directly with technicians to relay customer concerns and ensure accurate service execution
- Generate repair orders, explain costs to customers, and process payments
- Maintain workflow and efficiency, ensuring all tasks are completed while handling frequent interruptions
Qualifications
- Strong customer service skills with a professional and friendly demeanor
- Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented and capable of prioritizing tasks effectively
- Basic automotive knowledge, including the ability to read parts and wiring diagrams
- Experience in sales or service writing is a plus, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- Reliable, dependable, and able to meet customer demands efficiently
- Comfortable using Tekmetric, PartsTech, Microsoft Teams, ShopGenie, Outlook, Excel, Autel, AllData, and ProDemand
- Willingness to learn industry-specific programs if currently unfamiliar with them
