Billing Specialist — Remote | In Reach Therapy
$22–$24/hour + commission | Flexible Schedule | 30-40 hrs/wk
We help kids communicate, play, and grow.
In Reach Therapy is a community-based speech and occupational therapy practice serving children and families across Oregon. Our clinicians meet families where they are — in homes, schools, and communities — providing therapy that changes lives. We work with children on the autism spectrum, kids with speech delays, sensory processing challenges, feeding difficulties, and more. The advances of the clients we are honored to serve happen because of an incredible team — the child's own determination, their family showing up every day, and clinicians who know how to guide the way. We're one part of that picture, and we take our part seriously.
We need someone on the billing side who gets that.
We're hiring a billing specialist who wants to be part of something meaningful — not just process claims. Our billing department is in a season of rebuilding. We're honest about that. We've been through staff turnover with international contractors, we have accounts receivable that needs attention, and we're actively improving our systems through development of an exciting new billing program. We need someone who sees that as an opportunity. If you're the kind of person who likes untangling messes, finding money that got left on the table, and building something better than what was there before — keep reading.
What You'll Do:
- Post insurance payments and client payments accurately
- Follow up on unpaid and denied claims — research denial codes, correct and resubmit
- Submit secondary claims to Oregon Health Plan / Medicaid CCOs
- Generate and manage client invoices
- Work claims aging reports and prioritize by recoverable dollars
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim issues
- Help us build better billing workflows as we grow
What We're Looking For:
- Experience with medical billing, especially in occupational or speech therapy
- Familiarity with CPT codes, ICD-10 codes, ERA/EOB reading, and denial resolution
- Experience with Medicaid/OHP billing is a strong plus
- Someone who is detail-oriented, self-directed, and honest
- Someone who is not afraid of a challenge and actually enjoys figuring things out
- Comfort working remotely with a small team that communicates via Slack
What We Offer:
- $22–$24/hour depending on experience
- Quarterly commission based on % collected
- Remote position — work from anywhere
- Flexible scheduling — we care about the work getting done, not when you do it
- A team that genuinely cares about the families we serve
- The chance to be part of a growing practice that is building something new — including custom technology to make billing smarter and less painful
- A work environment where your voice matters and your expertise is valued
